I’ve always despised traveling. The thought of packing up and leaving, even for a short trip, has never appealed to me. 𝘋𝘢𝘸 𝘯𝘢𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘪𝘥 𝘬𝘰 𝘺𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵! It’s ironic because, despite my distaste for the journey itself, I’ve always loved airports. Wherever it is, even the worst one. Take NAIA, for example. It’s chaotic, outdated, and feels like it’s stuck in time. But for me, it’s never really about the place itself. It’s the vibe that gets me.

Airports have this energy that draws me in, enough to make me drive to Sta. Barbara at the crack of dawn every weekend just to witness the first flight, or intentionally book flights that have longer layovers (lol maybe I really am the 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘵 haha).

I just really love the chaos of going there, with people rushing in, announcements blaring all around me, and watching all kinds of people picking up and dropping off their loved ones. You get to see business people, young travelers, families visiting or leaving relatives, and the airport workers. It’s fascinating to witness all their different, glimpsed stories. Perhaps, it just reminds me of watching the night sky… it’s vast, overwhelming, and brimming with endless possibilities, yet somehow humbling. 𝘉𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘴𝘩𝘪 𝘩𝘢𝘩𝘢.

Anyway, despite the “catastrophe” happening in betweens, airports just have this sense of profound and unexplainable peace. Enough for me to love existing and 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 this life.

But I still despise traveling.
